Eleazar (Al) Yetman Obituary

Eleazar (Al) Yetman, born on May 8, 1934, journeyed peacefully to his heavenly home at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on October 5, 2023.

Al was born in the picturesque town of Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland, at a time when Newfoundland was not yet a part of Canada.  His early childhood was filled with the simple joys of coastal living, and he developed a deep love for the ocean and adventure that would stay with him throughout his life.

At the tender age of 15, Al made a life-altering move to Ontario, where he embarked on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and achievement.  He began his career as a mail sorter with Canadian National Railways, mastering the art of organization and precision.  Later, his passion for the sea led him to acquire his Captain's license, and he became a ferry captain in the bustling city of Toronto, navigating the waters with confidence and skill.

Always the adventurer, Al's thirst for new experiences led him into the world of real estate, where he founded his own successful company.  His entrepreneurial spirit and determination allowed him to create an amazing legacy in the business world.

In the midst of his eventful life,  Al found his anchor in his beloved wife, Trudy.  Their unwavering commitment to each other was a testament to the power of love and partnership.  Together, they shared a deep connection that transcended time and circumstance.  They got married on October 6, 1956, and he departed for Heaven on the eve of their wedding anniversary, on October 5, 2023.  We wish them a Happy Reunion and a Happy Anniversary in Heaven.

At the age of 42, Al and Trudy embarked on an extraordinary adventure, setting sail in the Caribbean, in their boat called Vitamin Sea where they explored the beauty of the islands and embraced the freedom of a life lived on the open seas.  These were the golden years of their lives, filled with unforgettable moments and cherished memories.

The passing of "The Banjo Man" a.k.a. "Big Al" leaves a void that can never be filled, but his, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his devoted son Randy, his wife Nadia, his loving daughter Sharon, her husband Michael, and his adored grandchildren- Jeremy and his wife Kayla, Leona, Michael, Andrew, great grandson Holden, and his brother Cron and his wife Brenda.

He is also survived by his Godson, Peter Ganglani, his wife Rakhee Ganglani, and an extensive circle of friends who will forever cherish the laughter, stories, and adventures they shared.

A private cremation was held at Raney Funeral Home in South River, Ontario, a place where Al's spirit can rest peacefully.  A Celebration of Life will be held on December 9th, 2023 at the Stouffville Christian Church 6528 Main St, Stouffville, Ontario at 4 pm.  Please bring your stories, tributes and memories.  There will be a CD available of Trudy and Al's music available.

In the tapestry of life, Eleazar (Al) Yetman's thread was one of courage, adventure, and love.  He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in the memories of those whose lives he touched.
